Jon Sowden
(Scrooge - 2001)

Jon trained at the Guildford School of Acting and, for much of his career has been a Company Stage Manager.  His first professional appearance was in Aladdin (Congress Theatre, Eastbourne) starring Terry Scott with whom he went on to do seasons of A Bedfull of Foreigners (Bournemouth and Jersey).

He has since appeared in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs -(Arts Theatre, Cambridge) with Marti Caine, and in Cinderella (Grand Theatre, Leeds) with Jonathon Morris. 

His regular pantomime appearances at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth included Sleeping Beauty with Hinge and Brackett, Cinderella with Des O'Connor, Babes in the Wood with Roy Hudd, Jack and the Beanstalk with Rolf Harris, and Dick Whittington starring the late Les Dawson.  Jon also appeared with Les as the reporter in Run for Your Wife in Preston, and a summer season at the Pier Theatre, Bournemouth.  He has toured nationally with Gerald Harper in The Aspern Papers, and with Andrew Lloyd Webbers' Song and Dance starring Wayne Sleep and Marti Webb.  Whilst in the West End with Song and Dance Jon assisted in the production of the Gala Performance for the Queen Mothers 90th Birthday at the London Palladium.

A tour of A Dead secret, appearing as Inspector Ward with Edward Woodward and Michelle Dotrice was followed by Jon's own production of Alfie starring Adam Faith.  This successfully toured Britain twice followed by a short season in the West End at the Queen's Theatre.

Jon has directed many productions for The Willow Tree Theatre Company including Alice, Oliver, and last years huge success Kiss Me Kate.  He is delighted to be working once again with this very talented company.
